Peter’s rebuke of Jesus was not simply a misplaced desire to avoid suffering. It was much more. It was a product of the cultural narrative.

Finding Hagar Book
FINDING HAGAR

This is a love story- a story of transformation, as God notices and pursues a pregnant and abused runaway slave girl. He values her and reminds her, through naming her son, that he is listening.  Hagar's gift to God is that she names him: "the God who sees."

God is One Book
GOD IS ONE

This is an academic book that features two Arab theologians of the medieval period who shared their understanding of God's Trinitarian persons with their Muslim counterparts. Is God's primary character love, leading to relationality or is it power? That question is still asked as Muslims and Christians meet and talk about the God they love and worship.

IN QUEST OF THE ROCK

Jesus leads Peter on the journey of a disciple, reshaping the inner person, bringing Peter face to face with his shadow self. He is re-formed into "the Rock" as his expectations and responses are challenged, leading him into a relational trust of Jesus aligned with his Kingdom. The Jesus-way of discipleship is personal and accessible.

Fresh Vision for the Muslim World Book
FRESH VISION FOR THE MUSLIM WORLD

This book tackles the question of seeing...particularly how we see the Muslim other. It asks the reader to consider changing the lenses he or she is looking through, attempting to see the other as Jesus did. It's a tall order, but worth the effort.

About

ABOUT

A little about me... My name is Mike Kuhn. I am a husband, a dad and a papa (grandfather).

I like the line from William Henry Davies' poem:

A poor life this is, if, full of care,

We have no time to stand and stare.

I've spent a lot of my life observing, and hopefully, learning. Though my roots are in the mountains of North Carolina, I spent most of my adult life in the Middle East (Egypt and Lebanon primarily), so I've learned that crossing into a new culture, though great fun, is challenging and I need help.

I follow Jesus...imperfectly. I am an author and teacher who would like to act and speak/write words that help Jesus' followers follow...or maybe lead to non-followers taking a second look.
